To get the nation squashing their empty cartons before recycling, we’ve been
asking you to show us: how do you squash yours? Earlier in the year, we launched
a YouTube competition to search for the most imaginative way to squash milk
and juice cartons before recycling! And boy have you impressed us.
From cycling over a juice cartons, doing a cartwheel over a smoothie carton and
even a Highland jig on several cartons…check out these YouTube videos to see how
other people squash their Tetra Pak cartons. Our panel of judges has selected a
short-list but now it’s time for you to vote for your favourite!
Squashing your cartons frees up space in carton collection banks, recycling
bags and boxes, making it easier to recycle your cartons. This means we can
get at least three times more cartons in the bins and collection vehicles
if they are squashed – taking trucks off the road, which is better for the
environment!
Click onto our voting page to vote for who you think has squashed their carton
in the most imaginative way. The entrant with the most votes will win either:
- a ‘chance of a lifetime’ place on an exciting international environmental adventure via Global Vision International – from a wildlife conservation trip with elephants in South Africa to volunteering with turtles in Panama
- OR an Eco TV, 50 hot DVDs and a supply of wine or smoothies in Tetra Pak cartons!
The best bit? The winner gets to choose which prize they want!
You’ve got until midnight on 29th November 2009 to vote.
