How to enter the 'How Do You Squash Yours?' competition
Entry is simple. You just need to make a video of yourself or someone else squashing a carton in an interesting and original way. Then, upload it onto YouTube and tag it with the words how do you squash your Tetra Pak carton competition as your main tag.
Don't forget to check out the competition Terms & Conditions. By uploading your video and tagging it with these words, you agree to those Terms & Conditions.
The most important things to check before you make your video:
- You must have squashed your carton by the end of the video
- If you are 13 - 18, you can definitely still enter the competition but you need to get permission from a parent or guardian first.
- If you are under 13, your video can be entered into the competition, but it must be done by your parent or guardian on your behalf.
- Be careful and safe; this competition is about finding the most original way to squash a carton, not the most dangerous or stupid! We can't take responsibility or liability for any damage done to people or property during the filming of your video.
The closing date for entries is midnight on Sunday 1st November 2009.
How to upload a video to YouTube
Once you've finished editing your video, made sure that it's less than 10 minutes long, smaller than 1 GB in size and in an acceptable format; you're ready to upload it onto YouTube (www.youtube.com). In case you've never done that before, here's our handy guide:
- You need to set up an account with YouTube to upload a video. If you don’t know how to do this, click here
- Click the upload button in the upper right-hand corner of any YouTube page.
- In the next window, click the "Browse" button to browse for the video file. Select the file that you want to upload.
- Click the "Upload a Video..." button.
- Enter title starting with “ How do you squash yours ” and then customise your title after a “-“ e.g. “How do you squash yours – jumping wellies”
- Then you MUST tag your video, otherwise we might miss it and you won’t be able to enter! Tag it with the following (put spaces in between each word and watch your spelling!): how do you squash your Tetra Pak carton competition
- Enter as much information about your video as possible, including Description, Tags and Category. The more information that you include, the easier it is for users to find your video!
- Ensure you set your video as Public
- Once all these details have been completed, click the “Save Changes” button
It can take from a couple of minutes to an hour for your video to upload to YouTube.
If you receive an error message when uploading, you should ensure that you're attempting to upload a file type that's recognised by YouTube. YouTube accepts video files from most digital cameras, camcorders and mobile phones in the .OVI, .MOVE, .MOVE and .MPG file formats.
